Our first instinct is to make provision for our loved ones in our Will. Having done this you might then consider leaving a legacy to a charity such as Cheltenham Ladies’ College. Gifts can be for a specific sum or you might consider a percentage share of your estate. This can protect long term value where even a small percentage share can make a vital difference to your chosen charity.
A legacy to College is free of Inheritance Tax which can sometimes be a consideration for long term planning. It has the added advantage of requiring no immediate financial outlay which can be important when there are so many competing demands on our finances.

How do I make a pledge?
Our recommendation is that you always seek the guidance of a solicitor, who will provide impartial legal advice and suggest the most efficient way of setting out your wishes. If you have already made your Will, then a Letter of Wishes or a Codicil mentioning CLC can be added without difficulty.
Your solicitor may ask for confirmation of our charitable status and our Registered Charity number.
