At College, we recognise that sustainability is crucial to securing a vibrant and thriving future for our community. With your help we can deliver a wide range of projects and initiatives with the ultimate goal of reaching Net Zero.
We aim to install photovoltaic (PV) panels to generate electricity, establish electric car charging points, and implement measures to reduce energy use across the estate. Work is already underway to install panels at the Health and Fitness Centre, and we intend to install them in multiple other locations around College, including on the main site.
We have also initiated the installation of electric car charging points as part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint. Eight points are currently installed as a pilot programme at the Health and Fitness and are available to use by staff, HFC users and visitors. As the use of electric cars continues to become more mainstream, this infrastructure will be vital.
Our pupils are our greatest ambassadors and our greatest inspiration. Through our pupil Sustainability Committee and Environmental Society, along with prizes and awards to encourage and recognise student participation, we intend to continue to support their involvement in green initiatives. After all, it is their world to inherit, and these skills, ideas and enthusiasm will enable them to influence change far beyond College.
Your donations will help accelerate implementation of our Estates Master Plan, bringing our sustainability goals within closer reach. As well as ensuring best use of space, this work will ensure College buildings are fit for purpose and economical, and that heritage stonework is restored and, where necessary, replaced with appropriate care and craftsmanship.
