This year’s Bellis Society event was held in April at the magnificent Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, home to attractions such as The Palm House, Great Pagoda and Princess of Wales Conservatory to name but a few. Our group of 26 were enthralled by two volunteer guides who were keen to pass on their knowledge and enthusiasm for so much in the gardens. Not only did we feast our senses on the rich, colourful borders which took us to the heart of Kew but we were also intrigued by sculptures and art installations making this a destination many in our group will return to year after year.
Our tour was completed with a pub lunch at the Cricketers, Kew Green and hugely enjoyed by all.
The Bellis Society is College’s way of informally thanking anyone who has chosen to leave a gift in their will, no matter how large or small. Membership is open to everyone in our community, Guild and parents alike.
Legacy funding plays a critical role in delivering projects across the College estate as well as supporting the provision of Beale Awards or bursaries.
