Unlike some schools, we do not have a large endowment fund that supports our bursary programme. Our goal is to increase the funds available to ensure we enable the most talented and motivated girls to flourish at College.
CLC has a rich cultural heritage with girls from a variety of backgrounds. We encourage diversity as it stimulates creativity and intellectual curiosity in the classroom and beyond. Increasing our bursary provision will allow us to uphold this tradition, ensuring we continue to offer a broad and relevant education which fosters tolerance and deep respect for others.
Named in honour of our longest-serving Principal, Miss Dorothea Beale, the Beale Awards enable College to offer places to the brightest and most promising girls, regardless of their circumstances. Each year we invest £1.6m to fund our means-tested bursary programme.
On average, about 60 girls are able to attend College each year with financial assistance, of these just under half are fully-funded places.
You can find out more about the Beale Awards in our Beale brochure.
